huh sea to land to sea. yes what the tittle says is right.

I'm going out side the box.

on the left a 30g cube reef set up.
break down marine land drilled tank with over flow.
esshopp sump, rio return pump, and t5 4 bulb aquatic life fixture.

middle tank. 30g cube planted tank setup.
break down oceanic tank, rena xp-2 canister filter (need the intake part, hate ghetto pvc in take I had to make).
lighting t5 ho 2 bulb retro kit with zoo med bulbs. (this will more or likely get changed out to a corallife or aquatic life 2 bulb t5 ho light fixture.)

right side 30g cube set up.
break down. marine land drilled tank with over flow.
esshopp sump rs150, scicce return pump, and t5 4 bulb aquatic life fixture.( this set up matches the left set up just a different esshopp sump, and different return).

all stand are the same new port marine land stands.

I may build a canopy, and have wood between each tank going vertical so it make it look has if are all 3 stands are one stand, and the3 tanks made to look like one big tank, with 3 different sections.

now to find the camera (or I will just use my 5c and do it from the cell phone. sorry android users ) because we don't like to read, right we just like the cool colorful photos :giggle::smile-big:

Now this sounds interesting. What are you planning on keeping in these tanks? Will they be three different environments? Like community reef, planted sea grasses with sea horses & a fish only non reef safe?

Joey, that sounds like a great plan. I know you are into both Marine and Fresh water tanks and that would be a great way to bring it all together.

To save on equipment you may want to consider sharing a sump and pump to run both saltwater tanks off a single fuge/sump under the stand. Just a suggestion. You may need to consider two return pumps but you could save some money on chemicals and such but using same water system for both tanks.

the hard part would be finding big enough sump, my reefs already have pumps, I just need skimmers. I have a proclear skimmer but the pump went out on it I think I could find a maxijet pump would that work? then who knows.

so far my corals and fish are going to be back in the left one. temp home in a big rubber made tub with power head, the rock, and a heater. 2- wide bar gladatoir clowns, and one cherub(pmgy) dwarf angel. not sure what the other reef will have in it. I'm thinking sea horses, or a small group of cardinals, or gobies. like 2 purples and 1 red, and some clear, or sexy shrimp.

and one too the photos.

I like the set up. I had an Euro Reef 125 or 135 that the pump went out and I was able to get a generic maxi-jet type pump from Tony at Aquatic Trading who had one in stock. I also noticed that Harbor Freight has some pumps as well. You may need to get a pump similar to the one you have so that you can interchange the impellors and air inlets to work for the skimmer.

So your TDS on your top off was reading 500? That's insane! I do think that you have too many fish in that tank for it's age, but fix your water situation right away. That's nuts!

so turns out cal was a little low, mag was a little low, and ph was a little high, nitrate was 30 (shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!), and phosphate was a 1.0. did a 10 gallon water change.  got the nitrate down to a 5, phosphate is now a .5 , cal is 480 from 360 , and mag is 1200 from 1000 ph is down to 8.1 from 8.7 ... all this in just 3 days looks like I got it back to a normal range. oh also traded in 4 reds fire fish, and a purple fire fish. so now all I have is one purple fire fish, one blood red shrimp, and a yellow banded pipe fish. as to where I had 2 purples,4 reds, and a shrimp. does that seem like a better bio load? more zoas are also coming out now.

thanks, lots of stuff has grown and not much space is left, but everything is doing good, and it's color.  also got me a led light off craigslist and the colors are popping.
